For Parents/Students of Westbury AP World History Students:
This blog will be used for current event assignments, artifact assignments and any other written assignments that would benefit from either a public platform or interaction among other students.
So, what is a blog? A blog is an informational or discussion website that appears in reverse chronological order (newest to oldest). Sometimes these sites are informal in their discussion. For the purposes of this blog, students will be required to use academic writing. Academic writing more than anything means no text speak. Examples: No hashtags, no words like “u, b4, btwn.”
The AP World History classes are utilizing blogs this year in order for a couple of reasons. First, the more writing students do for class, the better prepared they are for their AP essays. Second, Mr. Harris is a big proponent of teaching students how to properly use the Internet and how to properly communicate via the Internet.
If you ever need to contact Mr. Harris, please call Westbury High School at 713-723-6015 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org

If your class also does a blog, preferably history, we would love to connect with you to see how our classes can learn together.
